CHICAGO - According to The Amalgamated Department of Data Gathering, which is based in Chicago, the name Nemo has just surpassed the names Liam, Noah and Mason as the most popular new male baby name in the United States.
Bagby B. Buckleybox, a representative with ADDG, explained that the sudden surge in the name Nemo’s popularity is due to it being the name given to the Blizzard of 2013.
The Weather Channel is responsible for naming the Winter storm and it says that it does it to differentiate it from other powerful blizzards.
A top official with The Weather Channel stated that a lot of people think that naming winter storms is silly.
He then explained that people used to think that naming hurricanes was silly, but it proved to be a fantastic idea especially when there were three hurricanes out in the Caribbean at the same time.
It was very confusing when weather reporters would report that the hurricane over there is now a category 2, while the one over there is just a category 1, and the one way over there is presently a cat 2 but could make landfall as a cat 4 hurricane.
SIDENOTE: The Weather Channel reports that they are now giving some serious consideration to giving names to tornadoes as well. An inside source told Tittle Tattle Tonight that executives have already decided on the first four tornado names which are; Airhead, Blowy, Capricious, and Dizzy.
