NEW ORLEANS – Willie Nelson performed to a standing room only crowd in the Big Easy’s Voodoo Arena.
After the show he was asked by Pomona Vox with Silver Screen Showcase Magazine about his new movie.
Willie said that the movie titled Marijuana Days Daze will have its premier in Austin on the Ides of March, which is March 15.
In the Durango Grundyweather film Nelson stars as a drug dealer from Dallas named Horatio “Roach Clip” Clippapelli.
He said that he had one hell of a fantastic time working on the movie with Miley Cyrus, who portrays his granddaughter Kimberly “Toot-Toot” Slippmiller.
In the motion picture grandfather and granddaughter travel down to the Texas valley town of Cactusville for The Annual Marijuana Daze Days Festival & Parade.
While in Cactusville, they get mixed up with three members of a Canadian quasi-drug cartel that is based in Pocatello, Idaho.
The country music icon was asked about the very realistic marijuana scenes in the movie.
Willie put down his Lone Star longneck beer bottle, grinned and divulged that they used fake marijuana joints.
When asked to explain, he rolled his eyes and replied that the joints were made from a blend of oregano mixed with ground up Rice Krispies, dried baby carrots, and traces of Castor Oil to attain that authentic cannabis (pot) smell.
[WRITER’S NOTE: Don’t try making the fake marijuana concoction. Willie is one of the biggest practical jokers in the entire state of Texas, and he loves pulling people’s legs.]
The 79-year-old “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” singer told Miss Vox that he truly enjoyed talking one-on-one with young Miley.
He pointed out that he informed her all about the perils of marijuana and how she should stay away from it since it could affect her singing voice and could also cause her to become sterile and even possibly influence her choice of eye shadow color.
SIDENOTE: Willie and Miley wrote the words and music to the movie’s theme song titled “Grinning All To Hell During The Marijuana Days Daze Festival & Parade.”
