New Sunderland signing David Moberg Karlsson says he is looking forward to playing with Swedish compatriot Sebastian Larsson.
Moberg Karlsson, 19, signed for Paolo Di Canio’s side on Wednesday after making 36 appearances for IFK Goteborg in three years.
The forward was delighted to join the Stadium of Light outfit and revealed he is a “big fan” of fellow Swede Larsson, a player he has admired for some time.
“I’ve seen Seb for many years now when he was a young player and I looked at the Barclays Premier League,” Karlsson told the club’s official website.
“I looked at him playing football for a long time so I’m a big fan.
“I talked to (former Sunderland player Tobias Hysen) about Sunderland before my move; he talked good about Sunderland, the city as well so it’s great.”
Karlsson also said he is excited to play in front of Sunderland’s home fans.
“I have heard about how the fans are crazy about games. It is fun, you want passion in football – that’s why you play,” he said.
